Haboku
Kakuro, in ink. Haboku (破墨, “broken ink”) takes its name from the sumi-e technique of laying one wash of ink over another.
Haboku is on Google Play now.

Fill each run of white cells with the digits 1 to 9 so that they add up to the clue, with no digit twice in a run. The rules are short. The puzzles go deep.
Every puzzle is made on your phone and proved to have exactly one solution before you see it. Then it is graded from Learning to Insane by the reasoning it needs, not by its size.
What is in it
- A puzzle of the day, the same for every player.
- Curated packs, from first steps to the hardest grids.
- An optional tutorial that teaches the techniques one at a time.
- Free play at the size and grade you choose. An optional puzzle library, a 3 MB download, helps phones that are slow to make puzzles.
- Puzzle sharing. Send a puzzle to a friend as a short code.
- A quiet ink-wash scene that turns with the seasons, with music and soft chimes. You can turn each of them off.
- It plays offline. Signing in with Google is optional, and only lets the server verify your daily scores.
